We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team of smart, savvy, and driven IT professionals. In this role, you’ll be responsible for transforming the customer experience by leading complex IT projects, driving business-critical IT systems maintenance, partnering with front line service staff to support escalated service desk challenges and issues and helping to shape and design IT roadmaps, systems and services. In the first 30 days and ongoing:

  • Understands Infracore’s mission, values, and guiding principles and has thorough knowledge around Infracore’s products and services, client base, and business model, and completes job-specific training labs.
  • Works closely with an IT or Operations Manager to begin technical training and onboarding processes for a client environment.
  • Is good at proactively asking for help and feedback by sharing work early and often.

By the 90-day mark and ongoing:

  • Has built a foundation of strong relationships with Infracore teammates, IT Manager/Director, Operations Manager and other team members which could include Desktop Support Specialists and IT Specialists.
  • Has begun attending Infracore’s leadership development program.
  • Has foundational understanding of the client’s compliance landscape (whether SOX, HIPAA, CCPA or similar) and be able to speak to these standards, what data is protected, and how it’s controlled.
  • Has a core understanding of the client’s IT department and IT infrastructure, including but not limited to O365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, IaaS platforms (Azure, AWS), service desk, and any cyber security programs.
  • Serves as the highest escalation point-person for IT challenges to step-in, troubleshoot, engage IT vendors (e.g. networking, storage, SaaS, IaaS vendors) and VARs with confidence and helps to proactive resolve possible issues before they arise.

Within the 6 to 9 month mark and ongoing:

  • Is fundamentally aligned with Infracore’s team values and philosophy, and guiding principles and is actively participating in Infracore’s leadership development program.
  • Helps design, architect, deploy, and manage Enterprise projects for storage, network, data back-up, end-point management and mobile device management, proposing new enhancements and driving solutions using a cloud-first approach.
  • Executes the systems maintenance plan, ensuring repeated tasks such as monitoring backups, patching systems and performing test restores are being handled, looking for ways to automate and simplify where possible.
  • Champions best practices for cybersecurity, by ensuring best practices like MFA, least-privilege access, Conditional Access are being followed.
  • Assists in the technical development of fellow team members by helping to onboard new hires and sharing technical knowledge, helping get them to the next level.

By month 12 and ongoing:

  • Has complete knowledge and understanding of the client’s IT environment; new systems and other ‘surprises’ are rare.
  • Can act as a backup the IT Manager when needed.
  • Supports leadership with the IT Budget and IT Strategy for the following year by researching trends, identifying technical requirements and dependencies and possible replacing, upgrading existing systems.

✓ High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience required
✓ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent formal education in IT theory preferred
✓ 5+ years of related work experience deploying and managing enterprise IT systems required
✓ Demonstrated ability to research unknown or unfamiliar technology and analyze the potential application and present findings and an implementation plan required
✓ Detailed understanding of Active Directory in an enterprise setting including the schema, OU design, global catalog, group policy, Kerberos, LDAP, ASDIEdit, tombstone, and backing up / restoring Active Directory elements required
✓ In-depth knowledge of Windows Server technologies including ability to configure and troubleshoot redundant DFS, NPS, DHCP, DNS, DC services required
✓ Demonstrated ability to perform network audits using tools like nmap, Nessus and L0phtCrack preferred
✓ In-depth knowledge of Office 365 product ecosystem including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive required
✓ Working knowledge of Azure AD, including synchronization methods, Enterprise Applications, SSO and Conditional Access configuration preferred
✓ Solid understanding of Office 365 security best practices, including Microsoft Secure Score and third-party configuration baselines. required
✓ Proven understanding of cyber security measures and best practices, such as multi-factor authentication, Microsoft Authenticator, Duo, and other remote management and automation tools, SSL certificates, encryption & public key infrastructure (PKI) required
✓ Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure including ability to design and implement redundant, scalable infrastructures and to perform premise-to-cloud/cloud-to-cloud migrations required
✓ In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including the ability to capture and analyze packet data for troubleshooting purposes. required
✓ Proven ability to design complex and redundant networks with multiple sites, locations, subnets, WAN and VPN technologies. required
✓ Detailed understanding of DNS, including use of tools like ‘dig’. Understands all common DNS record types and can explain concepts like root hints and DNS recursion required
✓ Working knowledge with at least one scripting language (PowerShell preferred) with the ability to create automation scripts of moderately complex (50+ lines or multiple functions) required
✓ Proven experience with setting up physical servers including RAID configuration, firmware updates, OS/Hypervisor installation and rack/stack operations required
✓ Working knowledge of SAN and Storage platforms including disk and SSD types, RAID types, connectivity options (iSCSI, Fiber Channel), data replication, LUN creation and masking, file vs. block storage required
✓ Proven experience with enterprise backup software including performing backups and restores required
✓ Proven experience with virtualization solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V) including designing and implementing high availability solutions. required
✓ Proven experience designing endpoint imaging solutions using tools such as WDS, Ghost, Acronis, SystemCenter, including remote imaging solutions required
✓ Proven ability to analyze AWS and/or Azure cloud environments and propose recommendations for performance, availability, cost reduction and security preferred
✓ Proven experience in troubleshooting typical Windows and Mac endpoint issues required
✓ Knowledge of common cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800 and CIS Top 20 preferred
✓ Knowledge of IT aspects of common legal compliance programs such as SOX, HIPA, CCPA and ISO preferred
✓ Working experience configuring Linux systems, including OS install, filesystem management, backups and monitoring preferred
